Wendy Chase Arenson, J.D., CSPG, is a highly accomplished executive and legal professional currently serving as the Executive Director and President of the Jewish Community Foundation of Orange County (JCFOC). Since stepping into her role in 2012, Wendy has provided strategic and operational leadership that has transformed the Foundation, increasing its assets by 190% and spearheading initiatives like the Life & Legacy program, which secured over 1,000 future gift commitments for local Jewish organizations. Her expertise combines sharp legal acumen with a deep-seated passion for community collaboration.
Before dedicating her career to the non-profit sector, Ms. Arenson established a distinguished legal career. She is a graduate of UC Irvine (Phi Beta Kappa) and Loyola Law School, where she interned at the Western Law Center for Disability Rights. Her professional path included serving as a prosecutor for the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office, handling high-profile felony cases, and later as a Deputy Attorney General for the California Department of Justice. This experience in law provides her with a unique perspective on governance, compliance, and responsible stewardship—qualities essential for leading a major community foundation.
As a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving (CSPG) and a tireless advocate for community impact, Wendy leads the JCFOC in its mission to empower individuals and organizations to engage in effective and meaningful giving. She is passionate about supporting a diverse range of charitable institutions throughout Orange County and is known for organizing cross-denominational events that bridge traditions and strengthen communal bonds. Outside of her professional life, she continues to live a life of engagement and adventure, embodying the spirit of community she fosters at the Foundation.
