Ep. 336 Andrea Suchin
Andrea Suchin: Transforming Caregiver Burnout into Purpose and Rest with Wuggle
Andrea Suchin is a dedicated caregiver advocate, entrepreneur, and the visionary founder of Wuggle™, a wellness company centered on improving nervous-system health through restorative sleep. Her professional mission is deeply rooted in her personal history; after her husband, Craig, was diagnosed with behavioral frontotemporal dementia (FTD) at age 54, Andrea’s world shifted overnight. While raising four children, she transitioned into a full-time caregiving role, navigating the brutal realities of a progressive, terminal illness that stripped away the life she and her husband had built together.
The years that followed were defined by extreme stress, sleepless nights, and the profound, anticipatory grief of watching a loved one slowly disappear. As she balanced the complex demands of medical advocacy, financial strain, and protecting her family, Andrea reached a breaking point where her own health began to fail. It was in this "survival mode" that she realized the critical necessity of rest—not just as a luxury, but as a lifeline required to continue the work of love and caregiving.

Out of this crucible of experience, Andrea and her sister developed Wuggle™, a deep-touch pressure sleep cap designed to provide the nervous system with the calm needed for restorative rest. The product was born from her own desperation for sleep, serving as a tangible solution for other caregivers who, like her, often sacrifice their own well-being to ensure the comfort of their loved ones. Her work today bridges the gap between the isolation of caregiving and the practical tools needed to survive the journey with dignity.
In this episode, Andrea joins Jeanne Pepper to discuss the invisible epidemic of caregiver burnout and the systemic gaps that often leave families feeling unsupported. They explore the raw honesty required to admit when you are drowning, the importance of maintaining one's identity outside of the caregiving role, and the transformative power of a good night’s sleep. Andrea’s transparency about the rage, grief, and exhaustion of FTD provides a powerful validation for anyone currently walking a similar path.
Ultimately, Andrea Suchin’s story is about transforming deep suffering into a purposeful mission. She serves as a beacon for those who feel the weight of caregiving is too heavy to carry, proving that even in our darkest moments, there is a capacity for reinvention. By sharing her experience, she encourages others to prioritize their own health and find the courage to keep going, reminding us all that we can do good in this world simply by supporting the caregivers who hold our society together.
