The tragic loss of her teenage son, Patrick, to suicide in January 2018 left Kim Turner and her family devastated. Yet, amidst their raw, agonizing grief—which came in the same week the community was mourning another missing teen, Blaze—they discovered a profound call to action. Patrick left behind notes challenging his loved ones and his community to forge a world that was fundamentally kinder and more inclusive. It was this poignant, final wish that spurred Kim and her family to create Patrick’s Purpose.

Patrick Turner died by suicide in January of 2018, soon after Blaze was discovered missing. His death left his parents heartbroken. Wanting to make sense out of his senseless death - the family created a non-profit foundation that creates a platform Kim uses everyday to work towards making the changes that he wished to see.
