Susanna Wolfe

Court Special Advocate Volunteer

Giving back in her “free” time gives this Occupational Therapist/Lactation consultant a busy schedule of service

Court Appointed Special Advocates

Reading Partners

Susanna Wolfe is a highly skilled healthcare professional practicing as an Occupational Therapist and Lactation Consultant, specializing in infant and maternal health and child development. Her clinical philosophy is holistic and family-centered, driven by the belief that every mother can reach her breastfeeding goals with the right support, and that most children can overcome challenges related to food choices through addressing weak sensory or physical systems. She provides comprehensive support in areas including lactation issues, pump instruction, pain management, and transitioning to solids, as well as evaluation and treatment for "picky eaters."

Beyond her demanding professional life, Susanna dedicates a significant portion of her time to impactful community service, embodying the spirit of giving back. She serves as a Court Special Advocate Volunteer for CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). In this vital role, she works within the juvenile justice system, conducting independent reviews of a child's circumstances, interviewing relevant parties, and submitting formal recommendations to the court to secure a suitable, permanent home for abused and neglected children. This role demands independence, objectivity, and persistence—qualities she brings from her professional background.

Susanna's commitment to youth empowerment extends to her volunteer work with Reading Partners, where she focuses on improving early literacy skills. By supporting children in their foundational reading development, she contributes directly to their long-term educational and personal success. Her volunteer efforts with both CASA and Reading Partners illustrate a powerful dedication to not only immediate physical and developmental health (through her career) but also to the safety, advocacy, and educational future of the most vulnerable children in her community.Susanna is a great example of a community volunteer who has lived a life of service and continued in a career helping others. Like me, Susanna is also a parent of an LGBTQ child and discusses what that has been like for her.

Susanna also tells us about her early life in Canada and how she made it to the United States to study occupational therapy and stayed to start her career. Find out how her work has made Susanna’s life meaningful and helped people live their best lives.
